Japan observations, part 1

I’ve been thinking a lot (probably too much) about how to write posts around my time in Japan. As any Nuance Matters reader can tell from the stream of content that has been released in February, it’s not like I am out sight-seeing all day. I am working just as much here as I would be if I was back stateside (though I am behind in my readings of late).

From the Daikanyama T-site, an office with a view (of ‘famous’ Caffe Michelangelo).

Because this trip is structured as an exercise in remote-work, recounting my daily adventures would be extremely dull since, well, most of the time nothing all that exciting is happening! It’s sort of like everyday life. You go about your day, working, eating, interacting with the people around you, before eventually heading to bed. Am I doing so in a unique location? Sure, but as anyone who knows me well could tell you, I’m not about to skip out on work just because my location has changed.1

So rather than write a running journal of sorts, I decided that I would break this down more into themes and recommendations.

To kick off, here are ten observations I have after being in Japan for two weeks.
